You know those days when you wonder how you got on someone's !%@$ list? The days when your best efforts get criticized or your attempts at success "just buuuuurn and die"? (Cue Ice Age, with Sid and the dodo birds...) I've decided that it's (usually) nobody's fault, and even if it is, they probably aren't going to claim it, so there's no need to attach blame or whine or moan and complain about it.
It's just life. No one wants to hear you complain anyway, so keeping a sunny outlook when others around you seem bent on your demise may accomplish two things: first, it makes the intended ride to "imminent demise" more enjoyable, and second, it makes the critic wonder what secret you know that you can still smile while under attack. Sometimes the best thing you can do is concentrate on being your own best self (physically, emotionally, and spiritually), and let them be the worry of their Maker. (He does a much better job of taking care of them, anyway.)
So that's my plan when others seem to want me to "buuuuurn and die". Smile, take care of myself, and let them worry about themselves. Sounds like a solid plan. Now if I can just remember it from experience to experience...
