Every year, Breanna says, "We're going to the rodeo, right? I'm in the mood to see some muttin bustin'!" By this, she means the 4-8 year old kids trying to hang on to a slightly angry sheep, wearing their Wranglers and boots (and a bike helmet, just in case). Funny, but it's a big pioneer holiday tradition for her.
But every year, our testosterone-driven son rolls his eyes and whines (just a bit) about having to go to Ogden (home of all the crazy homies), sit in the hot sun for an hour before it starts, and then having to watch, smell and loath the nay-nays for an entire rodeo. He's interested in a slightly different kind of horsepower.
Dad to the rescue. He was given 4 tickets to the drag races at the raceway, and offered to take Stu and 2 friends in lieu of the rodeo. SOLD! to the young man on the race bike! So, although we were at separate venues for our own kinds of celebration, we were all looking at the same moon in the night sky. (Cue: Fivel, and "Somewhere Out There"... Aaawwwwhhh)

And today, on the 24th, we spent it together, swimming, hanging out, and having fun. We had a cozy little barbeque for the fam and some invited guests, Mary Ann and Tate, and Becki and Aiden. And Michelle. It was a comfy ending for a nice day together.
