Softball Tryouts!

Yesterday and today, Breanna and Kelle have been down at the high school for softball try-outs. Actually, Breanna is trying out, Kelle is assisting. See, Kelle is officially too young to be on the high school team, being in 8th grade, but Coach Knight wants her around for the future, so she has put Kelle as the manager for the team. She got to help shag balls, time the runners, warm up girls, catch for the coaches as they hit grounders for the team.

Breanna, however, is in full TRYOUT mode. She was hitting well, fielding well (even dove for a ball in center field, crunching her wrist and bouncing her chin off the grass), and running...faster. She's not been known for speed, but she is trying very hard, and with her being 20 lbs lighter now, is faster than last year! Go B!! First cuts were this morning, and she was on the list. Tomorrow morning before school she finds out the final cuts. We think she's got it, but she won't say. So watch for tomorrow's update to see if the daily practices for the last 6 months paid off! Go B! Yay, Kelle!
